W R HUMPHREYS GREY HANDLE FOLDING JACK KNIFE Ref: WRH-JACK	An unusual old folding Jack knife by W R Humphreys of Sheffield. The blade is 3" long & marked Humphreys-Radiant-Sheffield with a 3¼" marlin spike & screwdriver tip. The handles scales are of a hard grey alloy metal, which we think is Britannia metal (a white alloy of tin with copper, antimony, & sometimes bismuth & zinc) & it has a strong bale loop. It is approx 5" closed. Because of its construction we think it was made between the Wars in the 1920’s or 30’s. This is very heavy knife in good condition except for three small blade edge nicks & has had very little use which is displayed by the tightness of the whole knife with the handle showing very little wear. W. R. Humphreys was born in Ireland circa 1856. He was an apprentice in the ironmongery trade before becoming a traveller for a cutlery firm. In 1880 he set up his own business in Eyre Street, Sheffield. Around 1900 he acquired the business of John Wragg, renaming Wragg's Advance Works in Denby Street as the Haddon Works. Humphreys died in 1911. The company moved to the Portland Works in Randall Street in the 1960s. It was last listed in Matilda Street in 1970. Price: £85.00



WILLIAM HENRY SILVER & GOLD LIMITED EDITION ATS34 / TITANIUM LINER LOCK Ref: WHT09-G4	One of only 20 pieces of a William Henry Fine Knives Limited Edition. A spectacular piece of workmanship which will not be repeated. The other 19 are in collectors hands and it is unlikely they come up for sale. One of only 20 knives made for a very special Limited Edition by William Henry Fine Knives from the USA. It has a 2" modified drop point blade of ATS34 stainless steel with a thumb stud crowned with a thumbstone of citrine. The frame and liner lock is of lightly blued titanium with handle integrated scales both sides made from finely worked thick sterling silver and inlayed with filigree of 18k gold. Attached to the frame with a leather strap lanyard are two silver beads. It comes in it’s original WH embossed leather pocket sleeve in the original black gold embossed card presentation box all in excellent condition. This is very much a once in a lifetime chance.
